Witches of Ash and Ruin
2020
The story
Dayna Walsh wants to complete her training and become a full witch. Her life in a conservative Irish town is already complicated by OCD, being outed as bisexual and the return of a mother who has long been absent. The arrival of another coven introduces warnings of death and an irritating attraction to Meiner King. Then a witch is murdered, with signs pointing toward a serial killer whose trail had gone cold. Dayna and Meiner become entangled in a threat that connects human violence with older magical forces. Cooperation is difficult, but refusing it may be fatal. This contemporary fantasy draws on Celtic mythology while following a young witch whose personal upheaval is overtaken by an increasingly dangerous investigation.
