A Master of Djinn

Cairo, 1912, is a city where supernatural beings and modern institutions coexist. Investigator Fatma el-Sha’arawi works for the Ministry of Alchemy, Enchantments and Supernatural Entities, handling the trouble that arises between them. When members of a secretive brotherhood are murdered, the killer claims to be al-Jahiz, the legendary figure whose actions transformed the world. The claim threatens to turn a criminal investigation into a much larger crisis. Fatma must work with colleagues and her lover, Siti, to uncover what is happening before unrest spreads. This fantasy mystery returns to the Dead Djinn universe with an investigation shaped by magic, political tension and competing visions of Cairo’s future.
