The Neighbor

Writer Laura Fry returns to her childhood home to care for her mother and hopes the change might loosen her stubborn writer’s block. Instead, she finds herself restoring a neglected garden and observing the lively pool parties next door. Neighbor Cassidy Anderson enjoys female company but has yet to find the lasting relationship she wants. Laura initially keeps her distance from Cassidy’s crowded social life, even as it becomes difficult not to watch. Conversations across neighboring gardens gradually offer more than the spectacle Laura expected. As Cassidy finds herself seeking out the quieter woman nearby, both must reconsider their assumptions about where connection begins. What starts as a return to old responsibilities may open a possibility neither had been looking for.
