The Kiss That Counted

CJ Roshe keeps her relationships brief and her future to herself. With a past she cannot safely explain, she offers attraction without promises and makes sure she could leave if necessary. Karita Hanssen unsettles that careful arrangement. Their connection holds the possibility of more than a passing encounter, but wanting someone does not remove the secrets CJ has built her life around. Even her name is part of what she cannot honestly give. This contemporary romance follows two women drawn toward an intimacy that asks for more than either can take for granted. For CJ, the prospect of a lasting relationship means confronting the difference between protecting herself and allowing another person to know her.
