A Breathless Place

Isabel Adler once commanded audiences with her voice. Ten years after losing it, she remains estranged from the life and artistic identity that gave her purpose. Journalist Leila Zadeh arrives to complete Izzy's biography, bringing sustained attention to a woman whose plans for the future have grown dangerously bleak. Attraction develops between them, complicating a project that was supposed to look backward rather than create new possibilities. This emotionally difficult romance explores despair, creativity, and the possibility of choosing to continue living. Izzy's connection with Leila sits within a larger struggle to recover a sense of agency and expression, as telling the story of her past begins to challenge her assumptions about what remains ahead.
