The Apocalypse of Elena Mendoza

Elena Mendoza has always lived with an unusual explanation for her birth, but nothing prepares her for healing Freddie after the girl is shot outside a Starbucks. Freddie is also the person Elena has quietly wanted for years, making the event intensely personal before its stranger implications begin to emerge. The shooter disappears into the sky, ordinary objects seem to speak, and Elena's growing ability to perform miracles appears connected to something much larger. As inexplicable events accumulate, she must consider what her power costs and who is directing her toward using it. The possibility that the world is ending leaves her with questions no ordinary account of adolescence can answer.
