Call Forth a Fox

Ro's memories of her father live in the western wood, where he taught her to forage and told her stories about faeries. With him gone and the family struggling, her mother and sister want to move into town. Ro is reluctant to leave either those memories or the village girl who shares her love of the trees. One winter encounter transforms the stories she once doubted into an immediate danger: a bear attacking a fox becomes a boy, who remembers only Ro's name and an obligation to kill the animal. Protecting the fox will require Ro to draw on her father's lessons while untangling a curse she barely understands.
