Small objects begin disappearing during a stormy summer in an Irish town. Soon the losses become harder to explain and far more painful. Olive worries about the change in her best friend Rose, while scattered diary pages hint at another person’s secrets. Meeting Ivy, Hazel and Rowan, who are living in an unfinished housing development, draws her into a wider circle of unsettled lives. A handwritten spellbook appears to offer a method for recovering what has vanished, assigning each teenager a role. The promise comes with a price they do not fully understand.
