All the Bad Apples

On the day Deena comes out to her family, her older sister Mandy is seen jumping from a cliff. Relatives treat the disappearance as another sorrow in a long history of troubled women, but Deena cannot accept their explanation. Then letters from Mandy begin to arrive, describing a curse passed down through their family. Following those messages sends Deena across the country in search of both her sister and the truth behind the stories she has inherited. The journey draws personal grief into a wider history of women punished for defying expectations. To understand what has happened to Mandy, Deena must question who gets to name a woman broken in the first place.
