The story
Novelist Charlie Cross moves from New York to Los Angeles to work on a television adaptation of her books after a painful breakup. Her girlfriend's departure for a man has left Charlie clinging to rigid ideas about whom she can safely love. Then she meets Ava Castaneda, the bisexual cooking-show host she has admired from afar. Attraction makes Charlie's self-protective rules much less comfortable, forcing her to examine the assumptions she has made about bisexuality and trust. Set against the entertainment world, this romance follows a woman whose fear of being hurt threatens a promising connection. Moving forward requires more than finding someone appealing; it means questioning the beliefs she has used to explain her heartbreak.
