About That Kiss

Ida Burton's career has slowed as she has moved into her forties, and a leading role in a major lesbian romantic comedy offers a chance to regain momentum. It also presents a more personal possibility: stepping outside the closet she has maintained for years. Her co-star, award-winning actress Faye Fleming, is excited to work with someone she has long admired. Their easy rapport promises good things for the film until an on-screen kiss complicates the distinction between performance and feeling. Set amid the expectations of Hollywood, this romance follows two accomplished women facing a connection that their professional experience cannot make straightforward. The role may be scripted, but what happens between them is harder to prepare for.
