Perfect Rhythm

Pop singer Leontyne Blake, known as Leo, returns to her Missouri hometown after her father suffers a stroke. The visit brings her back into a family world far removed from her career and introduces her to Holly Drummond, the nurse caring for him. Their growing attraction cannot simply follow the relationship patterns Leo already knows. Holly is asexual, and building a connection means understanding what intimacy and desire mean to each of them. Against the pressures of family illness and a return home, the women begin exploring whether their differences can be approached with patience and honesty. Perfect Rhythm centers the work of listening as two people consider a relationship on terms they must discover together.
