Willow Foster has found a comfortable rhythm in Meadowbrook, Colorado: run her medical clinic, look after her patients and head for the mountains when emotional closeness becomes too demanding. Poppy McCoy disrupts that routine almost immediately. Back in town to care for her grandmother and establish a holistic clinic, the naturopathic doctor takes an approach Willow finds difficult to respect. Poppy is equally unimpressed by Willow’s certainty that she knows best. Shared patients, family worries and a succession of unexpected encounters make avoiding each other impractical. As professional friction gives way to attraction, both women face the uncomfortable possibility that the person challenging their judgment might also be someone worth letting in. Small-town life keeps bringing them together; deciding what to do about it is another matter.
