One Simple Refrain

Jillian Byers built a life in Los Angeles, balancing the pull of music with a career in medicine. Her father's declining health brings her back to Crystal, Maine, where familiar places no longer feel quite as she remembers them. Marjorie Willard has also returned, bringing her young daughter after a difficult divorce. At their thirtieth high-school reunion, MJ encounters Jillian, the woman she once had a crush on. An unexpected friendship helps them negotiate family responsibilities and the changes that brought them home. As their connection deepens, both women must reconsider what returning means, and whether a place associated with the past might hold a new future.
