Night Shine

The orphan called Nothing has learned to move through the imperial palace without attracting attention. Prince Kirin is one of the few people who truly sees her. When he disappears, Nothing and his bodyguard suspect the Sorceress Who Eats Girls, despite the apparent contradiction in her interest in a prince. While official search efforts fail, the two begin a dangerous journey through landscapes inhabited by demons and spirits. Reaching the sorceress means confronting secrets about Kirin, the palace and Nothing herself. Rescue may require a bargain whose cost cannot be measured in ordinary terms. This queer fantasy gives an overlooked heroine the chance to discover her own power, while complicating the boundary between the woman she fears and the woman she might desire.
