Elisa Benitez knows who she is and sees little reason to apologize for it. Her sharp wit and attraction to both boys and girls are part of the package. Darcy Fitzgerald, a wealthy young woman whose manner suggests she would rather be somewhere else, initially seems like exactly the sort of person Elisa can live without. Their early encounters do little to improve that impression. But dislike becomes harder to maintain as circumstances bring them together and the certainty behind their judgments begins to slip. In this contemporary queer reworking of Pride and Prejudice, attraction competes with pride, assumptions and the challenge of seeing another person clearly. Elisa and Darcy must decide whether a disastrous beginning has to determine everything that follows.
