Meet Me in Madrid

Charlotte Hilaire’s museum courier job takes her around the world, but the academic career she actually wants remains frustratingly out of reach. A snowstorm in Madrid offers an unexpected consolation: time to reconnect with Adrianna Coates, the brilliant art historian Charlotte admired in graduate school. An invitation for a drink turns into several nights together, and the attraction proves difficult to leave behind when Charlotte returns to the United States. They decide to pursue a relationship across the distance, fitting intimacy around ambitious professional lives. Then new career possibilities begin pulling at both women. What started as a fortunate interruption becomes a more complicated question about the place each is willing to make for love.
