Love & Other Natural Disasters

Nozomi Nagai wants a summer romance, and Willow appears to be the ideal candidate. Unfortunately, Willow is still thinking about her ex and wants a pretend girlfriend to make that ex jealous. Nozomi agrees, hoping a convincing performance will eventually persuade Willow to choose her for real. Each new maneuver makes their arrangement harder to keep tidy, especially as other relationships and unspoken motives complicate the picture. Misa Sugiura’s YA romantic comedy follows a girl whose plans for love depend on someone else changing her mind. The summer asks Nozomi to consider what she actually wants from a relationship, beyond finally being noticed by the person she picked.
