The story
Sixteen-year-old Arden Grey finds it easier to frame a photograph than understand what is happening at home. Her mother has left, her father and brother avoid talking about it, and a classmate keeps pressing her about her sexuality. Arden knows she likes girls romantically, even as she wonders whether asexuality describes another part of her experience. Her friendship with Jamie offers stability until his new relationship changes their dynamic. As Arden questions whether jealousy or genuine concern explains her discomfort, she begins reconsidering other relationships too. Film photography anchors a coming-of-age story about emotional abuse, boundaries and learning what kind of care she deserves.
