Knife River

Fifteen years after her mother disappeared, Jess receives news that brings her back to the small town she left behind: her mother's remains have been found. Her older sister Liz is still living in their childhood home, surrounded by the unanswered questions Jess has tried to outrun through a succession of relationships and restless departures. Returning to Knife River offers little of the clarity Jess hoped for. The investigation opens new uncertainties, her relationship with Liz remains strained, and an old girlfriend draws her back into another unfinished part of her life. As the sisters confront what can and cannot be known, Jess must reconsider the memories and assumptions that have shaped her understanding of their family.
