Hearts Forged in Dragon Fire

Lotte Meer has survived long enough as a dragontongue to understand how dangerous talking to dragons can be. When a particularly cruel dragon takes control of Morwassen’s Pass, the town buys time by handing over its treasure. That supply will not last. Lotte is asked to confront a creature whose intelligence makes brute courage insufficient, with Maryse Basvaan beside her. Maryse’s sharp tongue and appeal are distracting enough; the possibility that she has made a secret arrangement with the dragon is worse. With Lotte’s estranged mother among the captives, the crisis is painfully personal. Saving the town will require her to judge who deserves trust while facing an enemy capable of turning affection into a weapon.
