Emerson Riis has built a life in Mystic, Minnesota, with her dog Sasha and the routines of a small community. Mari Davenport arrives from Hollywood for a six-month break from screenwriting, bringing a different pace and a firm limit on how long she expects to stay. Their meeting opens the possibility of a relationship neither can treat as entirely uncomplicated. As attraction develops, the deadline attached to Mari’s visit remains in the background. What feels possible during a sabbatical may be harder to imagine once ordinary responsibilities return. The romance follows two women trying to understand whether the connection they are building belongs only to a temporary escape or can become part of their everyday lives.
