Game of Strength and Storm

The Empresses offer a prize powerful enough to change a life: complete ten dangerous labours and receive a wish. Gen enters to free her father, who has been convicted of a crime she believes he did not commit. Castor has her own ambitions, seeking a future that the rules of inheritance deny her as a woman. Both possess extraordinary abilities, but strength alone cannot settle a contest shaped by political power and conflicting loyalties. As their quests draw them into rivalry, alliances and attraction complicate what each is prepared to do. This fantasy reworks the labours of Hercules around two young women whose reasons for winning are personal, urgent and increasingly difficult to reconcile.
