Exes and O's

Ali Daniels has a theory about her failed relationships: if she can ask the right questions of her exes, perhaps she can work out what keeps going wrong. The project brings her back into contact with Madison Parker, the girl she loved in high school and has not seen for twenty years. Madison’s life now revolves around the doughnut shop she inherited from her father and the family ties that keep her rooted in town. Their reunion uncovers more than useful material for Ali’s investigation. Old feelings begin to complicate an exercise meant to explain the past, leaving both women to consider whether they have returned to a familiar mistake or a possibility they never finished exploring.
