Deputy Andrea Sullivan hoped that leaving Los Angeles would bring distance from the horrors of her former work. A series of murders in Sedona destroys that expectation and overwhelms the resources of her local department. FBI agent Cameron Ross arrives determined to stop a killer whose crimes have already challenged other investigators. Cameron intends to remain focused, solve the case, and leave. Working beside Andrea makes that tidy plan harder to maintain. Both women bring experience and determination to the investigation, along with personal histories that complicate trust. As the search for Patrick Doe grows more dangerous, their developing attraction becomes another uncertainty in a landscape already full of threats. Staying alive and bringing the killer to justice require a partnership neither can afford to approach casually.
