A Message in Blood

Chiara Corelli and P.J. Parker are called to a murder scene whose victims guarantee political pressure: a senator, a prominent pastor and a wealthy music-industry figure. The circumstances are already provoking demands for discretion, but the detectives find evidence that makes a quiet resolution impossible to accept. A message written in blood and the discovery of children shift their attention from the public reputations of the dead to the people harmed behind those reputations. Finding the killer is only part of the work. Corelli and Parker must resist attempts to control the investigation while pursuing justice for victims whose needs could easily be obscured by the status of the men involved.
