A Guest in the House

Marriage seems to offer Abby a way out of years of loneliness. Her new husband, a dentist who moved to town after losing his first wife, arrives with a daughter and the possibility of a family. Abby tries to find her place in their home, despite the continuing presence of the woman who came before her. The more she hears about Sheila's death, however, the harder it becomes to accept the explanations surrounding it. Curiosity develops into fixation, and Sheila begins to occupy Abby's imagination with an intimacy she has never experienced before. This graphic horror story follows a new wife's growing uncertainty about the household she has joined.
