1. The Princess Thief by Spencer Rose
For the reader who wants her princesses armed, underestimated and nowhere near Earth.
Release: November 4, 2026 · Genre: Sapphic science fiction / science fantasy · Story ingredients: Stolen identity, royal intrigue, slow-burn romance, a knight and an inconvenient number of geese.
Sian travels to Phoenix Gate on a mission involving its damaged monarchy, with a marriage serving as her cover. Then her girlfriend steals her identity and leaves her stranded. As breakups go, this one creates an unusually large administrative problem.
Stripped of her royal status, Sian becomes a goose keeper. Being overlooked gives her a different view of a conspiracy and puts her in the path of the knight investigating it. Spencer Rose takes The Goose Girl into space, keeping the fairy tale’s identity-switching engine while adding planetary stakes.
Make room for this if: You want political scheming and a sapphic slow burn with your interplanetary adventure.

2. On Location by Sara Radley
For anyone who has ever watched a celebrity love story and thought: the publicist is going to be a problem.
Release: November 10, 2026 · Genre: Contemporary sapphic romance · Story ingredients: Celebrity romance, a writer love interest, a film adaptation and a relationship under scrutiny.
Avery Mitchell escapes a very public breakup by retreating to New Hampshire. There she meets El Walsh, whose mountain life offers a welcome distance from Hollywood. Hikes become something more, until Avery’s next role reveals an awkward connection: El is the anonymous author of the novel she’s adapting.
Now their private connection has an industry watching. When Avery’s publicist pushes a romance with her costar, El has no intention of accepting life as someone’s secret. The premise puts a real question beneath the celebrity fantasy: what are you willing to risk to acknowledge the person you love?
Make room for this if: You want sapphic screen-industry drama that follows the women home after the cameras stop.
3. Kaleidoscope by Georgia Beers
A successful life. A lonely woman. One younger love interest about to disrupt the filing system.
Release: November 10, 2026 · Genre: Contemporary lesbian romance · Story ingredients: Age-gap romance, flirtatious texting, single parenthood and competing responsibilities.
Dentist Madeline Bishop has built a practice and raised her daughter, Zoe, largely alone. She’s good at responsibility. Making space for desire is another matter.
Then she meets Evan Dawson, a younger woman whose therapy practice and community work already leave little room for romance. Their attraction moves into flirtatious messages and a connection neither planned. But Maddie’s daughter has her own career ambitions, plus an awkward crush that complicates things further.
This is the pick for readers drawn to capable women who have become so accustomed to caring for everyone else that wanting something for themselves feels disruptive.
Make room for this if: Age-gap attraction appeals, but so does a love story with work, family and adult complications attached.
4. Doctor’s Orders by Ronica Black
Two doctors. One small town. Absolutely no agreement on the treatment plan.
Release: November 10, 2026 · Genre: Contemporary lesbian romance · Story ingredients: Opposites attract, professional friction, small-town life and repeated proximity.
Willow Foster runs a medical clinic in Meadowbrook, Colorado, and prefers the mountain trails when people threaten to get too close. Poppy McCoy returns to care for her grandmother and open a holistic clinic. Their approaches to care clash almost immediately.
Unfortunately for both women’s peace of mind, a patient crisis, family difficulties and late-night house calls keep putting them together. Attraction is one complication neither can simply refer elsewhere.
The appeal here is the practical friction: these women disagree about work that matters to them, while living in a town small enough to make avoidance difficult.
Make room for this if: Your preferred romantic chemistry begins with an argument between women who both think they’re right.
5. Lavender and Hemlock by Lili Wilkinson
The cottage is charming. The memory gaps are less reassuring.
Release: November 10, 2026, US edition · Genre: YA sapphic romantic fantasy · Story ingredients: An isolated house, missing memories, a wounded knight and a deceptively comforting world.
Tansy’s life is quiet: tend to Lady Aster, care for their seaside cottage, repeat. There’s just the small matter of not remembering when she arrived or when she last left.
Merit’s arrival changes that. A Carrion Knight raised to serve the Unmaker, she reaches the cottage through a mysterious door after being wounded. As the two women grow closer, Tansy begins questioning the reassuring shape of her world.
For readers who like fantasy’s soft furnishings but suspect something unsettling behind the wallpaper, this premise offers both. Come for the cottage; keep an eye on the exits.
Make room for this if: You want a sapphic fantasy romance where intimacy and the discovery of a dangerous secret develop together.
6. Ghosted by Talia Tucker
He stopped replying. She decided to become a haunting.
Release: November 10, 2026 · Genre: YA paranormal revenge comedy · Story ingredients: A first girl crush, boarding-school life, revenge and a sleep paralysis demon.
Keziah already has a complicated relationship with ghosts. A sleep paralysis demon has been keeping her company for years, and her dating life features a different kind of disappearance.
When a promising boy ghosts her, she decides she’s finished quietly accepting it. His behaviour toward a favourite food truck and discoveries about his past give her more reasons to retaliate. Helping with the plan is a cute girl, which introduces feelings Keziah wasn’t necessarily prepared to manage alongside her revenge campaign.
Choose this for YA revenge comedy with a first girl crush alongside the paranormal plot, rather than a conventional romance setup.
Make room for this if: You like your coming-of-age stories messy, spooky and fuelled by questionable decisions.
7. Blood Orchid by L.L. Raand
The evidence says danger. The instincts are being deeply unprofessional.
Release: November 10, 2026 · Genre: Paranormal lesbian romance · Story ingredients: A sheriff, a cat-shifter investigator, an unwanted mating pull and a conspiracy.
Sheriff Fel Aronow trusts evidence. A series of brutal deaths forces her to seek help from investigator Van Carras, a cat Were whose presence challenges more than Fel’s understanding of the case.
Van has never wanted a mate. Her attraction to Fel complicates her duties and her loyalties to her Pride, while the investigation threatens an already fragile peace between Humans and Praeterns.
Set in the world of Midnight Hunters, this new spin-off pairs an external threat with the internal problem of wanting someone who could change your entire life. Neither woman has the luxury of investigating her feelings in peace.
Make room for this if: Your ideal romantic suspense includes claws, supernatural politics and dangerous attraction.
8. The Last Good City by Ashley Bartlett
Falling for a mysterious woman is harder when she might be involved in the collapse of your utopia.
Release: November 10, 2026 · Genre: Sapphic speculative fiction / dystopian romance · Story ingredients: A threatened utopia, a philosophical mystery and a suspicious love interest.
Ellas Harding lives in Earth’s last surviving city, where humanity has supposedly learned to put its violent history behind it. The annual Wargames festival turns that history into an occasion for dancing, drinking and flowers.
Then Ellas witnesses actual violence. Worse, Jones McCoy, the woman she’s newly involved with, may be connected. An apprentice philosopher suddenly has a very practical reason to investigate what being good really means.
Pick this for a different flavour of November reading: a love story inside a society whose cherished beliefs are coming under pressure. The cute new girlfriend may be the least straightforward part of the celebration.
Make room for this if: You want your sapphic attraction tangled up with a mystery bigger than the couple.
9. Sally Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club by Sienna Waters
She meant to go to French class. Instead, she found a woman who could rearrange her life.
Release: November 19, 2026 · Genre: Contemporary sapphic romantic comedy · Story ingredients: Opposites attract, starting over, mutual misreading and a lonely hearts club.
Sally Pepper starts ventures with enthusiasm and struggles to see them through. Violet Weaver has built her life around plans until she leaves the husband who calls her boring.
A wrong turn takes Violet into Sally’s lonely hearts club instead of her language class. They make a useful arrangement: Violet contributes organization; Sally supplies spontaneity. The romantic signals are considerably less organized. Sally assumes Violet is straight, while Violet believes Sally isn’t interested.
Add meddling acquaintances and a stolen lemur, and the setup promises a particular kind of romantic chaos. The author explicitly describes a happy ending, for readers who want that reassurance going in.
Make room for this if: You want women finding room for each other and a different life, without giving up the comedy.
Which November book belongs on your nightstand?
For a celebrity love story, start with On Location. For women with established lives and inconvenient attraction, try Kaleidoscope or Doctor’s Orders. For fantasy with something unsettling underneath, look at Lavender and Hemlock; for supernatural romantic suspense, Blood Orchid.
And if your reading mood currently requires a princess keeping geese on another planet, November has been unusually considerate.
