Blood Orchid

Sheriff Fel Aronow prefers evidence to intuition, but a series of savage deaths is pushing her investigation beyond familiar explanations. To identify the killer before panic takes hold, she needs help from Praetern investigator Van Carras, a cat Were whose arrival unsettles both the case and Fel’s convictions. Van has never wanted a mate, and her attraction to the sheriff creates an unwelcome complication. Her responsibilities to the law and her loyalties to her Pride are already difficult enough to balance. As the investigation exposes a threat to the uneasy peace between Humans and Praeterns, the two women must decide how much they can trust each other. Set in the world of Midnight Hunters, this spin-off combines supernatural romantic suspense with a partnership neither woman expected.
