Tripping Arcadia

Lena needs work urgently after an injury and job loss leave her parents facing financial ruin. A position with Boston's wealthy Verdeau family promises relief, even if the interview and duties are unsettlingly vague. By day she assists the doctor caring for the family's troubled son; by night she helps manage the consequences of lavish, destructive parties. Her attraction to his sister Audrey makes the household harder to keep at a professional distance. When Lena discovers a connection between the family's patriarch and her own father's misfortune, employment becomes an opportunity for revenge. Pursuing it draws her further into the privileges and cruelties she intended only to survive.
