The Hellion's Waltz

Sophie Roseingrave has good reason to distrust an attractive scheme: a con artist destroyed her family's London piano business. Starting again in Carrisford, she becomes suspicious of silk-weaver Maddie Crewe, whose beauty does little to disguise the fact that she is planning something. Sophie is right about the plan, but not necessarily about its purpose. Maddie intends to take money from an exploitative draper to secure the weavers' union, and much of the local trade is helping. A watchful piano teacher is an inconvenient complication. As the two women grow closer, their disagreement over honesty becomes inseparable from questions of justice, loyalty and how much they can trust one another.
