A Pirate's Heart

Librarian Emma Boyd is trying to stop a map thief when her search draws her toward a vanished pirate's treasure. Investigator Randi Marx offers help, though working with a woman so attractive and so frustrating creates complications of its own. The map once belonged to Thomasina Farris, a Caribbean pirate whose fate disappeared into uncertainty in the early eighteenth century. Emma follows the traces of a captain whose missing fortune is bound up with the woman she loved. Across two timelines, questions of theft, loyalty and desire connect the modern investigation with an unfinished story from the sea. Finding out what happened to Captain Tommy may also force Emma to decide what she wants from her own future.
