She Is a Haunting

Jade Nguyen intends to endure five weeks with her estranged father in Vietnam, collect the money he has promised for college and leave. Pretending to be the daughter he wants seems manageable until the French colonial house he is restoring starts exerting a disturbing influence. Strange sensations, insects and the appearance of a ghostly bride make sleep and safety increasingly uncertain. Her father and younger sister do not believe her warnings. Jade turns to Florence for help, hoping to frighten her family into abandoning the property, but their staged hauntings cannot account for everything happening around them. Investigating the house means confronting its colonial history alongside the truths Jade has concealed about herself.
