River Walker

Cultural anthropologist Grady Wrenn comes to the Rio Grande drawn by a ghost story. The River Walker, a vengeful presence associated with La Llorona, promises questions that fit her fascination with local belief. Spiritual healer Elena Montalvo approaches the same spirit from a very different position, defending a figure others fear. Meeting beside the river brings the two women into a dangerous problem neither can resolve alone. Ending the spirit's violent vendetta requires them to work across differences in culture, understanding and loyalty. Their growing connection offers the possibility of more than a shared investigation, but finding each other means navigating the boundaries that shape how they see both the haunting and the world beyond it.
