Once in Berlin

In Berlin in 1938, mathematician Mila Nessian moves through a privileged social world while working on research with potentially enormous wartime consequences. Cecelia Balfour arrives reluctantly, grieving a lost relationship and hoping for little from the visit. Her cousin's intelligence connections give her an assignment: get close to Mila, learn what she knows, and help draw her toward Britain. Attraction complicates that purpose almost immediately. As their relationship deepens, Cecelia must weigh genuine feeling against the secrets she has been asked to obtain. With competing powers interested in Mila's work, trust becomes inseparable from the political danger gathering around both women.
