Branded Ann

A treasure map is all the feared pirate captain Branded Ann intends to take from a merchant ship. Instead, the raid leaves her responsible for Violet, the merchant's young widow, whose outward innocence conceals a more complicated nature. Ann's search for a legendary fortune carries them into dangerous waters, with an unruly crew and an unexpected child aboard adding to the pressure. The captive she finds so exasperating also begins to matter to her in ways she has not planned for. Violet brings wounds of her own to the voyage. As the treasure hunt threatens everyone on board, the two women must contend with an attraction shaped by mistrust, captivity and the histories neither can simply leave ashore.
