Marriage of a Thousand Lies

Lucky and Krishna have found a way to keep their families happy: a marriage that conceals the fact that both of them are gay. Outside that arrangement, Lucky makes art, goes dancing and tries to live on her own terms. A family emergency brings her home, where she reconnects with Nisha, her childhood friend and first lover. Nisha is preparing to marry a man, and their renewed closeness unsettles the compromises Lucky has learned to accept. She wants to offer Nisha another future, but wanting freedom for someone else is easier than deciding what to risk herself. Family obligations, cultural belonging and old affection pull in competing directions as Lucky confronts the limits of the life she has built.
