A Sharp Endless Need

Mack Morris begins the final year of high school facing two changes that pull in different directions: the death of their father and the arrival of gifted basketball player Liv Cooper. On the court, the new teammates work together with an immediacy that strengthens the whole team. Away from it, their attachment becomes harder to describe as friendship. In a small Pennsylvania town, that intimacy brings risks alongside the relief of feeling understood. Grief, competition and the approaching college commitment deadline place increasing demands on Mack. As ambition collides with self-destructive impulses, choosing a future means deciding what to do with feelings that cannot be contained by the boundaries of a game.
