Lies We Sing to the Sea

Every year, Ithaca sacrifices twelve young women to appease Poseidon. Leto expects her own hanging to be the end of her story, but she wakes on an unfamiliar island instead. There she meets Melantho, a girl whose connection to the sea offers a possible way to break the cycle of deaths. The price is the life of Mathias, Ithaca’s prince. Drawn into a struggle shaped by divine punishment and human choices, Leto must decide what she owes the girls who came before her and the people she comes to love. Her second chance at life leads back toward the kingdom that killed her, where ending one terrible tradition may demand another devastating sacrifice.
