Just Happy to Be Here

At Ainsley Academy, Tara would like her work and friendships to matter more than being the school's first openly trans girl. Joining the Sibyls seems like one way to belong, but the traditional club's selection process becomes a public argument about who gets to claim girlhood. An influential alumna makes Tara a target, pulling her into a fight she never volunteered to lead. Inside the club, she finds allies and a growing connection with Felicity that might become first love. Tara has always admired the force of a well-chosen speech. Now, as other people debate her place at school, she has to work out what she wants to say for herself.
