Jo: An Adaptation of Little Women (Sort Of)

Jo March starts eighth grade ready to take her writing seriously. Joining the school newspaper seems like the right first step, though producing journalism proves less straightforward than she expected. At home, she and her sisters are adjusting to their father's deployment and their mother's demanding nursing work. New friendships offer welcome company, especially Freddie, who encourages Jo's ambitions, and Laurie, the boy next door. But when Laurie reveals romantic feelings, Jo realizes she cannot return them—and that her own feelings may be directed toward Freddie instead. This contemporary graphic adaptation follows Jo as she works out how to tell stories while beginning to understand the one she is living.
