Carousel Summer

Lucy Stulligross is expecting a lonely summer while her best friend is away at camp. At home, chores and her father's criticism of her tomboy appearance make the prospect even less appealing. The town's plan to restore an old carousel brings artist Ray and her daughter Anaïs into Lucy's life, changing the season's possibilities. With Anaïs, Lucy feels accepted in ways she is not used to, and friendship begins to carry the excitement of a first crush. As plans for the town create new tensions, Lucy has more than one reason to care about the carousel's future. Discovering what matters to her also means learning to make room for herself.
