In the Name of the Father

Dallas detectives Tori Hunter and Samantha Kennedy are assigned a politically sensitive murder: a Catholic priest has been found strangled, and the circumstances threaten a scandal. The death of their only suspect shortly afterward makes the investigation more difficult rather than closing it. As they uncover contradictions in the priest’s public and private lives, pressure from above pushes them toward a quick resolution. Tori and Sam must determine which explanations serve the evidence and which protect the people around it. Their established partnership gives them a foundation, but it does not shield them from institutional demands or the risks of following an unwelcome lead. Pursuing the truth means looking beyond a respected reputation and refusing to let a convenient ending stand in for an answer.
