Heathen, Volume 1

Aydis is exiled from her Viking community after kissing another girl. Rather than accept the rules that made her an outsider, she sets out to challenge the divine order behind them. Her journey leads toward the Valkyrie Brynhild and a confrontation with the authority of Odin, drawing Norse myth into a story about freedom and desire. With her horse Saga alongside her, Aydis encounters a world whose restrictions reach far beyond the village she left. The opening volume follows a young warrior turning personal rejection into a larger purpose. Her quest asks who benefits from the laws treated as inevitable, and what it takes to imagine a different way of living.
