Heat of Justice

Detective Cody Miller takes on a missing-person case brought to her attention by Kim Reed, a lawyer whose unusual gift and complicated history make her difficult to read. Attraction grows alongside the investigation, leaving Cody unsure how much she can trust the woman drawing her into it. Elsewhere in Lewiston, Lieutenant Quinn Wesley becomes the target of vicious online accusations. Her wife, filmmaker Lia Kennedy, begins investigating the attacks, only to find her own past becoming part of the threat. The third Duty novel follows these connected women through a summer of professional danger and personal strain, as their attempts to protect one another expose vulnerabilities their opponents are willing to use.
