Greta & Valdin

Greta and Valdin share a flat in Auckland, where romantic disappointment and family complications keep intruding on their attempts at adult life. Valdin is still attached to the ex-boyfriend who moved to Buenos Aires, and a work trip threatens to reopen feelings he has tried to contain. Greta is juggling an unrequited crush, graduate study and precarious academic work when another woman offers the possibility of a different connection. Neither sibling can pursue a private crisis for long without their sprawling Maaori-Russian-Catalonian family becoming involved. Their alternating stories follow the awkward distance between how well they think they understand themselves and what love, work and their relatives continue to reveal.
