Goldie Vance Vol. 1

Sixteen-year-old Goldie Vance lives at a Florida resort managed by her father and wants to become its resident detective. Charles, who already holds that job, is willing to let her assist when her local knowledge and determination prove useful. A missing-person case gives Goldie an opportunity to do more than imagine the career she wants. Following clues means paying attention to the people and routines that make the resort run, while her own friendships and interests continue around the investigation. The first volume introduces an ambitious teenager whose confidence can create trouble as readily as it uncovers answers, placing her detective work within a community she knows well enough to question.
