Gnarled Hollow

English professor Emily Murray accepts an invitation to study the work of a favourite author at Gnarled Hollow, an estate whose atmosphere soon becomes difficult to explain. Rooms appear to change, time behaves strangely, and scholarly curiosity gives way to the possibility that something is wrong with the house itself. Fellow researcher Juniper Friend, an art historian, offers both companionship and an unexpected attraction. Together, they begin looking beyond the work that brought them there to the history the estate may be concealing. The closer Emily comes to understanding Gnarled Hollow, the less secure the boundaries between past and present become. Her investigation develops alongside a relationship formed under increasingly unsettling circumstances.
