Cantor Gold
The story
In New York Harbor in 1949, art smuggler Cantor Gold is waiting to complete a transaction beneath the Brooklyn Bridge. Instead of a clean exchange of jewels and cash, a woman's fall onto her boat turns the night into a dangerous puzzle. The woman is Opal Shaw, whose connections include both high society and a powerful killer. Cantor must deal with an angry business contact, the threat of vengeance and the questions surrounding Opal's death. Celeste Copley, Opal's intimate friend and keeper of secrets, draws Cantor's interest while offering no easy route to the truth. Staying alive will require sorting attraction from deception before the night's competing demands catch up with her.
