Cinderella Is Dead

Two centuries after Cinderella's famous marriage, her story has become a rulebook for the kingdom of Lille. Girls must attend a royal ball where men choose their wives, and those left unchosen face a frightening future. Sophia does not want a husband; she wants to be with her childhood friend Erin. When the ball makes obedience impossible, she flees and encounters Constance, a descendant of Cinderella's family who knows a very different version of the kingdom's history. Their alliance gives Sophia a chance to challenge the system that has trapped her. Together, the two young women must decide how far they will go to expose its foundations and build lives of their own.
